Here at Saint Matthew’s we celebrate the Holy Mass with joy, prayerfulness, reverence, and dignity. We integrate various instruments and styles of music to praise God with the fullness of who we are as a community of believers.
Cantor
- Lead music at weekend liturgy with Pianist/Organist
- Vital skills: a good quality voice, comfort with a variety of music, and ability to read music
- Adults and teens are welcome!
Instrumentalists
- Guitar, flute, woodwinds, brass are all welcome!
Organist/Pianist
- Lead music at weekend liturgies with a cantor
- Strong accompanying skills are necessary although training is available as needed
- Anyone who plays piano and is interested in learning more about the organ can contact Zach the music director
Resurrection Choir
- Leads the singing at funerals
- Rehearsal 60 minutes before funeral
- Funerals usually take place on weekday mornings
Chancel Choir
- Currently on hold due to the pandemic
- Open to all adults and high school students
- Wednesday night rehearsals
- New members are always welcome
